We stock all four lines rather than one, so if a size, venting configuration or recovery rate is out on one brand, there is usually an alternative sitting in the warehouse instead of a lead time.

Hard water. Scale builds inside a tank and on tankless heat exchangers, and a correctly sized heater on untreated water will still underperform and fail early. If you are replacing a unit that died young, it is worth asking why before putting the same thing back in the same spot.
